You know, I am typically not one to whine, so if you don't want to read a whiny journal, just pass this one by. LOL! Ok, no, I think you should read it. LOL!

(Makes a loud, unpleasant whiny sound). I am seriously pissed. I skipped my vacation to stay home and clean this dump of a house. I literally have just laid stuff down and not put anything away for like MONTHS now. Well, I decided it had to GO and I mean GO NOW.

So yesterday, I was moving an 8 x 10 wool rug... not a cheap rug, a thick wool rug. You see, we just had a new sofa delivered and decided to also basically redo the whole living room, which means that the area rug that was in the living room has to go. Of course, it doesn't match the new color scheme. Because noooooo... I just don't roll that way.

Anyway, I rolled the rug up with no problems, bungeed it in several places so it wouldn't unroll while I was moving it to the garage (hopefully, I can sell the thing), and proceeded to attempt to put the end of the rug onto a hand truck for easy breezy moving. Right? No kinks in this rock-solid plan! The plan was an epic fail which you probably guessed if you've ever tried to move a rug on a hand truck.

The rug, of course, was too long and folded up... but could it fold completely in half so I could bungee it? No! It had to fold in a cattywampus fashion that just made it impossible to move. Off the hand truck, it went sliding to the floor with a boom. Ok, I thought, I will try to roll it to the garage. Did I mention that my house is an obstacle course? Greyhounds here, ocicats there, moms on the side, among about 4 months of crap I've accumulated. Rolling was not an option. Dragging! There you go. People drag dead bodies in rugs all the time. Surely, just surely, I could drag this 100 lb rug to the garage. I mean HAVE just started working out again after three long COVID quarantine years of ass-sitting.

Ok! Dragging worked... well, mostly. Feeling accomplished, somewhere mid-kitchen, I decided I needed a rest. I tried to gently put the end of the rug down on the floor, as one tends to do when one needs a rest. As I did, I heard this dreadful sound... and it was coming from my back... part creak (I am getting old), part crack, and part tear. Well, I said out loud, "this is not going to be good!" (This is not really what I said, but I am censoring myself) I decided that before the pain truly sank in, I should probably continue to move the rug. Ultimately I did get the rug to the garage, but not where I needed it to be. There was just no way.

Today I can hardly move. Yep. I have once again killed my back. I continue to ask myself why I do this shit, but I know the answer. If I don't, who will? No one. So yeh. I need a man. But I only want him for heavy lifting and honey-do duties. Apply within. :-)

I hate that fucking rug.

Coven Thread - 2023 Goals

13:58 Dec 08 2022
Times Read: 191

Hi everyone! I hope that everyone is thriving, not just surviving. I know that the last couple of months have been exceedingly tough here and my depression seems like it is at an all-time low. I was unable to get an appointment with my doctor until after the first of the year, which is quite unhelpful. I had a thought this morning. If others are feeling the same way that I am, maybe looking forward to the next year would be of assistance. In that spirit, I opened a thread in my Coven and decided to post a journal entry where those who are interested can post aspirations for 2023. These are not necessarily New Years' resolutions, as we know that more often than not we tend to toss those out the window during the first couple of weeks in January. No, these are more like goals that we are striving for and if we fall off the wagon, no worries; we can start again with no self-judgment or judgment from others.

With that in mind, I will post some of my goals for 2023. I plan to be open and document when I have fallen short of the goals that I am setting for myself. Remember, no goal is too small or insignificant. Also, please no judgment if you read or participate in this either through my Coven, Letchworth, or my journal. This is meant to be a safe space. Thank you!

I have a place to vent and talk in my Coven forms as well. I use it in my coven myself since I am the only one in my coven at the moment.

I found a freshly decorated, organized, and clean room seems to bring out more creative energy.

Right now, I am working on bringing a fresh and clean organized look to myself.

Mind, Body, and Soul is my goal.

Happy Holidays Theodora
